WHAT WE FUND

More than a hospital foundation.

Unlike most hospital foundations, EKHF supports care right across the region. You can give to our priority needs, or direct your gift to any of the areas below.

WHY GIVE

Government covers only part of the cost of medical equipment.

Donors bridge the gap. Requests often come with little warning, and resources always fall short of need. When your family needs care close to home, your community’s gifts are already there.

Proof it works: the digital X-ray suite

In 2016 the Foundation and the Province bought a $400,000 digital radiography suite for Souris Hospital. It gives a lower radiation dose and a more comfortable exam. Before it arrived, the hospital did 1,747 X-rays in a single year, so local patients feel the difference every day.

And lately: faster lab results

In 2025 donors funded a $125,000 Sysmex blood analyzer that replaced a 19-year-old machine, along with a $65,000 computerized medication station, a new heart monitor and an accessible tub room in recent years.

WHERE WE SERVE

From East Point to Morell to Little Pond.

The Eastern Kings region is home to about 7,500 people year-round, and close to 15,000 from May to September when summer visitors arrive. When care is close, families can visit, recovery is easier, and no one has to make the long drive to Charlottetown for routine tests.

When your family needs us, we’re there.

But not without your support.
